It has always been our belief that we are born into life for the purpose of 'the journey'. The Journey is dynamic, often elusive and its point in no way absolute; but, surely we are compelled to search for something and undoubtedly we find that which we had not imagined. Thank you for being part of the journey...for offering your gifts and at times offering us the challenge to change and to see things just a bit differently....in a way we had not imagined. With you and because of you, we have discovered that life is designed to be lived through, not to attain--either an answer or an outcome and we have discovered, it is those things we live through that change us...if the purpose of life is 'the journey', the point of life is 'the change'. We are entering into a New Year and a Powerful time of Change... "I am trying to imagine a wonderful dream called the future, where people use art every day to orient themselves, to process their dreams, to think about their next move, to strategize, to focus, to deliberate, and to pull strands of history together into an elaborate weaving. Like the utopias so gorgeously depicted by Starhawk and Marge Piercy, the people dance when they are moved to, they sing of their pain and their glories, they create performance to highlight the contradictions, the foolishness and the hypocrisy in their lives. They paint for joy and celebration and to honor the suffering of those who went before them. They make artifacts that are used in rituals that create meaning.
